一、常用词

1. abbreviation /əˌbriːviˈeɪʃn/ n. 缩写，缩写词

• 词根词缀：ab-（离开）+ brevi（短）+ -ation → 使变短 → 缩写
• 同义：short form, acronym
• 搭配：the abbreviation of…（……的缩写）
