【原文】I look up to American inventor Thomas Edison. He is my favorite hero. He had more than 1,000 inventions during his lifetime. He was born on 11 February 1847, in the state of Ohio, the US. On 18 October 1931, he died in the state of New Jersey at the age of 84.
When he was young, he was always trying out new ideas and asking strange questions. After he was in school for only 3 months, he dropped out. His mother taught him to read and write at home. Edison learnt very fast, and at the age of 10, he became interested in chemistry. In 1858, he began to sell newspapers on the train. A few years later, he started a newspaper of his own. In 1868, he had his first invention.
