Some people get so used to lying that they do so even when its not necessary. I've worked with a number of these people and got some ideas about the way they think. Believe it or not, their lies may be understandable when you look at them from their point of view.
Often, people want things to go their way. To some people, the truth might not fit their plan, so they choose to stay away from it.
Sometimes the lie might not seem important to you, but it matters to them. They may put too much pressure on theniselves or think the situation is a big deal.
Or they just don't want to let you down. People who lie a lot are often worried about losing the love of those around them.
Moreover, lies can grow. One small lie leads to more lies to cover it up. If the liars (骗子) admit to (承认) any single lie, they feel like they're admiting to being a liar, and that's scary.
At other times, it's not a lie to them. They might truly believe their lies at that moment. Studies show that our memories are influenced by many things. Stress, or their wish to make things work can make them remember things differently.
Most people are honest most of the time. Even if some people lie more, they're usually honest. Instead of asking why they lie, try to know why the situation is so important to them. Showing empathy (同理心) and praising honesty can encourage more truth-telling. Being honest is important, and helping others be honest is atso a good thing.
