Admittedly, modern education must prepare students to gain a foothold in a highly competitive and technology-driven world. If schools allocate excessive time to ancient history or traditional culture at the expense of these practical disciplines, students may lack the technical knowledge required in the modern labour market. This is particularly important today, when young people need digital literacy and subject-specific expertise to evaluate the accuracy of AI-generated content and use new technologies responsibly. From this perspective, ancient cultures should not dominate the curriculum or replace subjects that provide clear career-related benefits, as practical disciplines can enhance students’ competitiveness and prepare them for future careers.
