每日一句|考研英语真题长难句打卡(Day 2)

昨天我们拆了第一句，今天难度稍微提一点，但方法不变。文末有“熟词僻义彩蛋”，记得看到最后。

今天要拆的句子

In fact, the way in which we work, think, and play is a product of the technology that surrounds us — from the clock to the smartphone, from the factory assembly line to the search engine.

第一步：找主干

去掉修饰和例子，抓住核心：

the way … is a product of the technology

“方式……是技术的产物”

主语：the way（方式）谓语：is表语：a product of the technology（技术的产物）

第二步：拆修饰成分

1. in which we work, think, and play定语从句，修饰 the way：我们工作、思考和娱乐的方式

2. that surrounds us定语从句，修饰 the technology：环绕我们的技术

3. 破折号后面的部分：from the clock to the smartphone, from the factory assembly line to the search engine两个 from … to … 并列，举例说明“环绕我们的技术”具体指什么：从时钟到智能手机，从工厂流水线到搜索引擎。

第三步：整合翻译

参考译文：

事实上，我们工作、思考和娱乐的方式，是环绕我们的技术的产物——从时钟到智能手机，从工厂流水线到搜索引擎。
