Learn from Famous People in Ancient Times

Song Lian was poor, but he loved reading. He borrowed books, copied them in the cold, and always returned them on time. I have learned a lot from his hard work and honesty.

Last month, I needed a science book but had no money. I borrowed one from my teacher and promised to give it back in three days. I read it and took notes every evening. My arm was sore, but I kept going. I returned the book on time, and the teacher lent me more books.

I have learned that we should work hard and keep promises if we want to succeed.

My Story in Junior High School

Last term, our teacher took us to a farm for a study tour. In the activity, we not only learnedhow to plant crops, but also experienced the importance of labor. At the same time, it also allowedus to experience the hardships of farmers. After this event, although we were tired, we were veryhappy.

I think the school trip is really meaningful for us. We can not only relax ourselves but alsolearn a lot from it. I will take part in more such activities in my future free time.

From the cartoon, I can know we should depend on ourselves. These days, we Chinese teenagers often depend on our parents in our daily lives. We can’t deal with difficulties by ourselves and we can’t take good care of ourselves. I seldom did housework in the past, because I thought it was our parents’ work. This is a wrong opinion. We should learn to do housework like sweeping the floor and taking out the rubbish. I hardly cooked either. When my mother was on business, I realized I must learn to cook by myself. After that, I find that cooking is not as difficult as it seems.

So it’s important for us to learn to manage our own lives.

When we get into senior high school, we need to adapt to the new environment as soon as possible. And we should make good use of time and get enough sleep. At the same time, we need to study seriously and make progress. To make more friends, we had better join clubs actively. Lastly, we should take up our hobbies in our free time to not only keep healthy but also keep our minds clear.All in all, the earlier we manage our own lives, the better it is for our future.

Technology changes our life and inventions are around us. In my daily life, the computer has become an important part . And it changed me a lot. With the help of the computer, I can search for some useful information and read different kinds of books. By receiving and sending emails, I can communicate with my friends freely. If I have some problems with my study, I can discuss them with my classmates on the Internet. If I feel stressed from time to time, I can listen to music online to relax myself. I can also buy all kinds of things online.

But if I meet some difficult problems in my homework, I often look for answers on the Internet. This makes me lazy and too much computer work is bad for my eyes. So I think everyone should use the computer wisely.

At the beginning of a new life, I'm  going to make myself better.

Firstly, I think developing good study habits is the most important to me.I’m going to  ask questions during or after class. Because knowledge comes from questioning. “Practice makes perfect. ”I’m going to keep practicing what I have learned every night. And I’m going to learn from mistakes instead of being afraid of making mistakes. I’m going to review notes by drawing mind map. Secondly, I’m going to make more friends. My favorite saying is，"A true friend reaches for your hand and touches your heart."We are happier when we are with friends.We will help each other and learn from each other. I’m going to play basketball with my friends after school.It’s a good way to relax.

All in all，as long as we work hard at anything we do，we will make ourselves better.

Time and Tide Wait for No ManGood morning.everyone！

It's my great honor to have a chance to make a speech here. The subject I'd like to talk about today is a proverb-Time and tide wait for no man. I think it means that time is the most  valuable thing in our lives.

I can't understand the meaning of this proverb until last year. During the summer holiday before Grade 9, I spent the whole holiday playing computer games and watching TV instead of  taking the after-school classes. When the new term began, l found my grades  dropped quickly. When I realized the situation, it was too late. l really regret  not studying hard at that time

Now I completely understand what the proverb means. Not only should we value the time but also we should use  the time properly because time never waits for anybody.
