Friendship is one of the most precious gifts in our life. A true friend can share your happiness and comfort your sadness. I still remember the friendship between my deskmate Lucy and me.

Lucy is a quiet and kind girl. She moved to our city with her family last year and     11     our class. At first, she was shy and had no friends. She sat quietly alone and never talked with classmates. No one knew her well, and she always looked     12    .

I felt sorry for her and decided to make friends with her. I smiled at her and started a talk with her. I asked about her old school, her hobbies and her life. To my surprise, she was easy to get along with. We had many     13     hobbies. We both like reading, listening to light music and running in the morning.

Day by day, we became close friends. When I met difficulties in study, she helped me     14     difficult problems patiently. When she felt upset because of small troubles, I cheered her up and     15     with her. We shared secrets, laughed together and even cried together.

Last month, I was badly ill and had to stay at home for a week. I worried a lot about my     16     and falling behind others. Every evening, Lucy came to my home after school. She     17     all the notes to me and explained the key knowledge I had missed. She also encouraged me not to be     18     and take good care of myself.

Thanks to her help, I caught up with my classmates soon after I returned to school. I was deeply moved by her     19    . I realize that true friendship is not about playing together happily, but about     20     each other when in need.

Now we are still best friends. We make progress together and encourage each other to be better. We believe our friendship will last forever. I also learn that we should be     21     to new classmates, give them warmth and help them fit in the new environment.

Never take friendship for granted. Treasure every true friend you have.A friend in need is a friend     22    . True friendship can bring us courage, happiness and strength. It makes our life more     23     and meaningful. In our long life, good friends are the most valuable     24     that we can never buy with     25    .

Among the most famous traditional Chinese paintings, there is a very long painting of horses called One HundredHorses. As its name suggests, One HundredHorses shows about 100 horses in different poses (姿势). Some stand quietly, while others run, walk, drink water, play on the ground or even fight. The painting’s large size alone is enough to interest viewers. A closer look, however, may surprise you further.

To many people’s surprise, it was painted not by a Chinese artist but by an Italian named Giuseppe Castiglione. Castiglione was better known in China by his Chinese name, Lang Shining. He was born in 1688 in Milan, Italy. In 1715, he traveled to Beijing. As an experienced painter, he was invited to work as an artist in the palace. Seven years later, Emperor (皇帝) Yongzheng came to power. By then, Castiglione had already made a name for himself. He was famous for a special style that mixed Western and Chinese painting methods. In 1724, Yongzheng asked him to paint OneHundredHorses, a silk painting nearly eight meters long.

Painting on silk is no easy task. Once a mark is made, there is no going back. Castiglione first practiced on paper and planned everything carefully. Then he copied the design onto silk step by step. It took Castiglione four years to finish the painting. There is no record of how Emperor Yongzheng viewed it. But the following emperor, Qianlong, thought highly of it and called the painting a wonderful work. Castiglione skillfully mixed Western realism (现实主义) with Chinese painting skills. The trees, horses and people look true to life, yet they were all painted with a Chinese brush.

In One HundredHorses, humans and nature live side by side in peace, and so do Eastern and Western aesthetics (美学). Perhaps this perfect balance is why Emperor Qianlong liked it so much.

33What can we know about Castiglione from Paragraph 2?

AHe came to Beijing when he was 34 years old.

BHe was invited to the palace for his painting skills.

CHe only used traditional Chinese ways to paint.

DHe worked as a teacher in the Chinese palace.

34Why did Emperor Qianlong like the painting so much according to the text?

ABecause it took the painter four years to finish it.

BBecause it is nearly eight meters long and very large.

CBecause it shows a wonderful mix of two cultures.

DBecause there are about 100 horses in different poses.

35What’s the structure of the passage?

APainting→ Painter→Creation→ValueBPainter→Painting→Creation→Value

CCreation→Painting→Painter→ValueDValue→Painter→Painting→Creation

36What’s the best title (标题) for the text?

AOne Hundred Horses: Where East Meets West

BHow to Paint on Silk: A Difficult Painting Skill

CGiuseppe Castiglione: A Famous Italian Painter

DChinese Paintings: Beauty in Traditional Art

How beautiful the jasmine (茉莉花) is! A sweet smell covers the budding twigs. So fragrant, so white, admired by all lips.” This famous Chinese folk song, Jasmine Flower, is loved around the world. Traditionally made jasmine tea is as popular as the song. The nice smell and smooth taste of the tea attract countless tea drinkers.

Chen Chengzhong, a 72-year-old tea master from Fuzhou, has a big say in making jasmine tea. He started his career early in his teenage years, when he worked in a state-owned tea factory.

Jasmine tea is usually made with green tea as its base. To add the jasmine smell, people use fresh jasmine flowers. These flowers are picked during the daytime when the buds are still closed. And the green tea leaves from the spring harvest are stored until the most fragrant jasmine flowers appear in late summer.

The hot and humid weather and the red soil in East China’s Fujian province provide perfect conditions for jasmine and tea plants, which are needed for high-quality Jasmine tea. “Our jasmine flowers and tea leaves are all from Fujian, although they cost more than those from other places,” Chen said.

When the fresh jasmine flowers are picked, they are mixed with layers of tea leaves. Workers stir (搅拌) the mixture overnight so that the tea leaves can take in the sweet smell of the flowers. In the morning, the flowers are taken out, the leaves are dried, and the process (流程) is repeated. More times of repeating create a stronger jasmine flavor. To make excellent jasmine tea, workers need to repeat the process at least nine times.

Now Chen Chengzhong has been chosen as a representative of Fuzhou jasmine tea making skills. He focuses on passing on his skills by giving lessons to students and young workers. His son, Chen Zheng, is also following his father’s path. “Like my father, I hope to practice this traditional skill with deep cultural meaning and pass it on,” Chen Zheng said.

37Why does the writer mention the folk song Jasmine Flower in Paragraph1?

ATo teach readers to sing the famous folk song.

BTo introduce and lead in the topic of jasmine tea.

CTo show the long history of Chinese folk music.

DTo explain how to plant jasmine flowers properly.

38What does the underlined phrase “has a big say” in paragraph 2 probably mean?

AHas a great influence.BSpeaks very loudly.

CLikes talking much.DKnows many stories.

39Which of the following is the correct order of making jasmine tea?

① Mix fresh jasmine flowers with tea leaves in layers.

② Pick fresh jasmine flowers when buds are closed.

③ Take out the flowers and dry the tea leaves.

④ Store spring green tea leaves until late summer.

⑤ Stir the mixture overnight to take in the flower smell.

A②→④→①→⑤→③B④→②→①→⑤→③

C②→①→④→⑤→③D④→①→②→⑤→③

40From the passage, we can infer that________.

AChen Chengzhong has taught tea-making skills for many years

BTea makers choose Fujian materials to save much money

CFuzhou jasmine tea making skills will be passed on

DMost tea needs to be processed at least nine times

Many people may wonder what the three Chinese astronauts’ life was like when working in space.    41

Astronauts eat three meals a day: breakfast, lunch and dinner. But how much they eat depends on the astronauts. A small woman astronaut often needs only about 1,900 calories (卡路里) a day, while a large man requires about 3,200 calories.     42

43     They look out of the window, enjoying the wonderful sunsets and sunrises which happen every 45 minutes. Very often, they play with their food or even play jokes on their workmates. Believe it or not, astronauts can even spend weekends, when they can watch movies, play music, read books and talk to their families.

After a long day at work, nothing is better than a good night’s sleep. Just like on Earth, an astronaut goes to bed at a certain time. Then he wakes up and prepares for work again.    44    Generally, astronauts are planned to have eight hours of sleep. Like on Earth, they may wake up in the middle of their sleep to use the toilet.    45    You see, they live just like us.

As for Wang Yaping, she had another experience—preparing for lessons for the Chinese students far down on Earth.

AAnd astronauts also have dreams.

BAstronauts can have much fun, too.

CBut there are a few differences. Astronauts have to sleep in sleeping bags in special cabins (柜子).

DThe astronauts can do what they want to relax.

ESo there are many kinds of foods ready, such as fruits, nuts, chicken, beef and seafood.

FIn fact, they did many of the things as we do on Earth.

A robot show named Wu BOT becomes the hottest hit on the internet. The cool kung fu robots were created by Unitree Robotics, led by its founder (创始人), Wang Xingxing.

Born in the 1990s, Wang loved machines and robots from childhood. He often took things apart and experimented with new ideas. At university, he began to study robot dogs. At first, his robots often fell down. He changed the program and tried once more. They often broke. He fixed small pieces and checked his computer code again and again. He didn’t have much money and worked late in the lab every night. Every time the robot failed, he would not stop until the robot could move safely and smoothly. After hundreds of tests, the robot finally worked correctly. It could stand, walk and do simple actions. He kept working quietly and solved each problem one by one. It was his first model, XDog. In 2016, he founded Unitree Robotics.

Wang’s robots are famous worldwide. His robot dogs and humanoid robots can walk, run, do backflips (后空翻) and even perform Chinese kung fu. At the 2026 Gala, Unitree’ s H2 and G1 robots amazed everyone with skillful moves, parkour and wonderful sword shows.

Wang works hard and keeps innovating. He believes robots can make our lives better and easier. As a young pioneer, he encourages teenagers to love science and go after dreams, and then turn their ideas into reality.
