An Unforgettable Class
The English class I took last Friday is an unforgettable class. It is also one of the most enjoyable classes I've ever had.
Our teacher, Mr. Wang, started the class with a fun game ¹called "Guess the Word". We ²were divided into two teams and had to guess some new English words with the help of our teammates' drawings. The classroom was filled with laughter. After the game, Mr. Wang explained the new words and patiently taught us ³how to use them. He used the interesting game to help us remember these new words easily.
⁴This class was so interesting that I didn't want it to end. It made me love English even more.
如果语言不直接等于思维本身，那么语言为什么对人类如此重要？答案可能在“交流”和“累积文化”中。语言最深的功能，可能不是让单个大脑突然拥有思想，而是让许多个大脑能够交换思想，它把个体经验变成公共知识，把短暂判断变成可保存的规则，把私人感受变成可讨论的对象，把一代人的试错变成下一代人的起点。
