Last Monday was National Day, a special day for our nation. My mom and I decided to visit a nature museum near our home. We moved through the museum slowly. At the moment we entered, a guide named Ms. Lee met us. She said, “Welcome! You will learn much about mountains, mice, music, and more in our museum.”
First, we saw models of famous mountains like Mount Taishan. My mom took many photos. “Look at the narrow paths on the mountain!” she said. Then, we watched a short movie about monkeys in the mountains. Their moves were funny. I nearly laughed out loud.
Next, we went to the music room. Different instruments were there. A song about the moon was played. I thought about mooncakes and the Mid-Autumn Festival for a moment. My mom said, “We will buy some mooncakes next month.” In another room, we learned about medicine. A medical hero from history was shown. He got a medal for his work. My mom mentioned that healthy food is necessary. “We need more vegetables and less meat and mutton,” she told me.
After about a mile of walking, we felt tired. My neck was a little sore. We sat in the middle of a garden in the museum. My mom sent a message to my father. She said we missed him. I used my mobile to look at the museum map. I found we didn’t visit the modern art part. “Maybe next time,” my mom said.
On our way home, my mom bought a magazine about nature. “Most museums are free on National Day. We saved money today!” she said with a smile. I thought the trip was necessary and fun. It was not just a morning out; it was a good meeting with knowledge and my mother.
