本周主题：人与自我 · 情感与态度
学习目标：完成60个核心词汇的“看到能反应”认读训练，重点掌握5个多义词的语境辨析，并通过一篇短文在语境中巩固本周词汇。
一、真题例句感知
下面每个词都来自高考真题或真题同源语境的例句。你先读句子，试着在语境中猜出画线词的含义，再看后面的解释。
1. bore
The lecture was so boring that half the students fell asleep.
这个讲座太无聊了，一半学生都睡着了。
2. care
She cares deeply about the environment and volunteers every weekend.
她非常关心环境，每个周末都去做志愿者。
3. comfort
After the exam, my mother comforted me and told me not to worry.
考试后，妈妈安慰我，让我别担心。
4. fear
Many people fear failure more than they fear success.
很多人害怕失败甚于害怕成功。
5. trust
I trust him completely because he has never let me down.
我完全信任他，因为他从没让我失望过。
二、5个重点多义词详解
本周请你重点掌握下面这5个词的多个义项。高考最喜欢考的，恰恰是那些你“以为认识”但只掌握了其中一个义项的词。
1. bore
常见义（动词）：使厌烦、使无聊
生义1（动词）：钻（孔）
生义2（名词）：令人厌烦的人或事
真题搭配：be bored with（对……感到厌倦）；bore a hole（钻孔）
记忆提示：bore做“使厌烦”讲的时候，主语通常是事；做“令人厌烦的人”讲的时候，主语是人。He is such a bore.（他真是个烦人的家伙。）另外，bored是“感到无聊的”（人做主语），boring是“令人无聊的”（事做主语），这两个词别搞混。
2. care
常见义1（动词）：关心、在意
常见义2（名词）：照顾、照料
生义（动词）：喜欢、愿意（用于否定句和疑问句）
真题搭配：care about（关心、在意）；care for（照顾；喜欢）；take care of（照顾）
记忆提示：care about是“关心”，care for有两个意思——“照顾”和“喜欢”。Would you care for a cup of tea?（你想喝杯茶吗？）这里的care for就是“喜欢、想要”。在否定句里，I don’t care就是“我不在乎”。
3. comfort
常见义1（名词）：舒适、安逸
常见义2（动词）：安慰、宽慰
生义（名词）：给予安慰的人或事物
真题搭配：in comfort（舒适地）；comfort sb（安慰某人）
记忆提示：comfort做名词是“舒适”，做动词是“安慰”。a comfort可以指“一个给人安慰的人或东西”，比如 Her words were a great comfort to me.（她的话给了我很大的安慰。）
4. fear
常见义1（名词）：恐惧、害怕
常见义2（动词）：害怕、畏惧
生义（动词）：担心、忧虑
真题搭配：for fear of（以免、以防）；fear that...（担心……）
记忆提示：fear做“担心”讲的时候，跟worry差不多。I fear that he may be late.（我担心他可能会迟到。）for fear of是“以免”，后面跟名词或动名词。
5. trust
常见义1（动词）：信任、相信
常见义2（名词）：信任、信赖
生义（动词）：希望、盼望（正式用法）
真题搭配：trust sb（信任某人）；trust in（信赖、信仰）
记忆提示：trust做“希望”讲的时候比较正式，比如 I trust that you will do your best.（我希望你会尽全力。）这个用法在高考阅读里偶尔出现，看到的时候知道是“希望”就行。

认读提示：上面60个词里，这12个属于“认读层”，只要求看到能反应出大意，不要求拼写：affection, anxiety, despair, embrace, endure, enthusiasm, envy, grief, guilt, humble, impatient, sincere。其余的属于“核心层”，其中这15个词建议你能拼写：anger, brave, calm, care, comfort, courage, delight, disappoint, emotion, fear, forgive, grateful, honest, hope, humor。
四、语境巩固短文
请阅读下面这篇短文，文中加粗的词都是本周学过的。读完后，尝试不看词汇表说出每个加粗词的含义。
The Day I Learned to Be Brave
Last year, I had to give a speech in front of the whole school. I was so nervous that I could hardly breathe. I feared that everyone would laugh at me. My hands were shaking, and I felt like running away.
My best friend noticed my anxiety and came over. She comforted me and said, “You don‘t need to be perfect. Just be honest and speak from your heart.” Her words gave me courage. I took a deep breath and walked onto the stage.
At first, I could feel my voice trembling. But then I looked at my classmates and saw sympathy in their eyes. They were not jealous or impatient—they were kind and supportive. I began to relax. I spoke slowly and clearly. When I finished, everyone clapped.

五、第1刊课后任务
任务一（必做） ：从本周60个词中，选出15个你觉得“看到英文想不起中文”的词，写在卡片正面。卡片背面写中文大意，不抄英文拼写。
任务二（必做） ：用“看英文说中文”的方式，快速过一遍第一组30词。反应超过3秒的，在词旁边画一个“△”，这些是你需要在第2刊重点复习的词。
任务三（选做，A层学生） ：用本周学的至少5个词，写一段3到5句话的短文，主题是“我最近一次感到紧张或害怕的经历”。不要求长，但要求每个词都用得准确。
