Step 1 - 扫盲固定短语
move into a convention 逐渐形成一种模式/惯例
move into是一个动态的短语，表示「进入某种状态/阶段」，比如The project is now moving into its final phase.这个项目现在进入了最后阶段。
convention名词，表示「惯例、约定俗成的做法」，比如Shaking hands is a common social convention.握手是一种常见的社会惯例。再比如By convention, the bride wears white.按照传统习俗，新娘穿白色。
Step 2- 大致划分结构

Recent decades是无灵主语，也可以理解为无生命主语，是考研翻译/图表写作的高频句式。大家之前一定用过，但不一定知道这个概念。
比如图表作文大家一定写过The past years have witnessed striking differences in leisure choices between the young and the elderly.近些年年轻人与老年人的休闲选择呈现显著差异。
像人/动物作主语时是有灵主语，而The past years就是无灵主语，即没有生命的事物充当句子主语
考研中无灵主语高频考法为：
无灵主语(一般是时间/年代)+witness/see/experience，翻译时切勿直译为"时间见证了变化"，要把时间转为状语翻译。

这部分是一个where引导的定语从句。其基本结构为：
先行词（地点名词） + where + 定语从句
where本身在定语从句中充当地点状语，相当于in/at/on+ which。比如This is the house where I grew up=This is the house in which I grew up
考试时往往不会简单的考察地点+where的定语从句，而是考察where不只能修饰真正的地点。
where的本质是「某种情境、环境、阶段、体系、领域等」，所以where可以修饰抽象名词。比如situation, circumstance, stage, environment, age, society, process等。
比如We are living in an agewhere technology is transforming every aspect of our lives.我们生活在一个科技正在改变方方面面生活的时代。
age不是我们常识中的如city, house这样的地理地点，是某种时间阶段的抽象名词，就和真题中的convention一样，是抽象的名词，where充当情景/环境状语

在这种惯例下，对该领域的参与...
where引导的定语从句在写作中运用正确也是非常加分的句式！
此外，注意一点。in the subject大家可能突然一愣，subject又是指什么？其实前面的the就已经给了大家提示，subject即指前面出现过的science，为了避免重复，the表示特指前面的science。
