Nowadays, education’s aim has been discussed widely. Some people suggest that schools focus on citizenship education instead of textbook knowledge, and I partly agree with this opinion.
On one hand, learning academic subjects is very important for students’ future. Math, language and science help young people get good grades and enter ideal universities. Without basic academic skills, students can hardly find decent jobs after graduation.
On the other hand, moral and citizenship lessons are also necessary at school. Teachers can teach kids respect rules, help others and understand social responsibility. These qualities make teenagers fit into society easily after leaving school.
In conclusion, both academic study and citizenship training are essential. Schools need to balance these two kinds of courses for students’ all-round development.

如今教育的目标被广泛讨论，有人提议学校侧重公民素养教育而非课本知识，我在一定程度认同该看法。
一方面，学科学习对学生未来至关重要，数理、语言、理科助力学生考取高分、升入理想院校，缺少基础学科能力很难在毕业后找到合适工作。
另一方面，德育与公民课程必不可少，在校可以教会孩子遵纪守法、乐于助人、树立社会责任意识，帮助青少年步入社会。
综上，文化课与公民教育缺一不可，学校需要平衡两类课程，助力学生全面成长。
