Low-carbon Life, Green Future
Nowadays, climate change and greenhouse gases bring serious pollution to the earth. The rising temperature melts ice, causes natural disasters and makes sea levels rise. It also harms wild animals and destroys our living environment. To protect our earth, President Xi Jinping put forward an important plan at the 75th UN General Assembly on September 22nd, 2020.
如今，气候变化与温室气体给地球带来严重环境污染。全球气温升高会融化冰川、引发自然灾害、导致海平面上升，同时危害野生动物生存，破坏我们赖以生存的自然环境。为守护地球家园，习近平主席于2020年9月22日在第75届联合国大会上提出重要发展目标。
China plans to reach the carbon peak before 2030. It means carbon dioxide emissions will hit the highest point and then slowly go down. Besides, our country will try to achieve carbon neutrality before 2060, which is to realize net-zero emissions of carbon dioxide. These goals can slow down global warming and improve the polluted environment.
中国力争2030年前实现碳达峰。这代表二氧化碳排放量达到最高峰值后稳步下降。同时我国努力争取2060年前实现碳中和，达成二氧化碳净零排放。这些目标能够减缓全球变暖，改善被污染的生态环境。
It is everyone’s duty to fight against pollution and support the double-carbon goals. As middle school students, we can start with small things in daily life. We can save water and electricity, ride bikes or walk to school instead of taking cars. We can also plant more trees and use reusable bags instead of plastic bags.
治理环境污染、助力双碳目标是每个人的责任。作为中学生，我们可以从日常小事做起。节约用水用电，步行或骑车上学，少乘坐私家车；多植树造林，使用环保布袋，拒绝一次性塑料袋。
Greenhouse gases and pollution make our earth sick. Small green actions can make a big difference. Let’s live a low-carbon life together. We will make our planet cleaner, greener and more beautiful for future generations.
