Sunny
Today was a meaningful day because I took part in an activity to protect the Haihe River.
In the morning, we gathered in the school hall to attend a lecture. The speaker explained the importance of the Haihe River. After that, we watched a documentary which told us its history and culture. I was amazed to learn how important the river was to our city's development.
In the afternoon, we went to the riverbank to pick up plastic bottles, bags, and other waste. While working, we also talked to passers-by and we encouraged them to protect the river together. Many people agreed and some even joined us!
This activity made me realize two things. First, small actions, like picking up trash, can make a big difference. Second, our city will become more and more beautiful if everyone works together.
