Last December, my cousin and I decided to join a community course. Our dad, a dentist, thought it was a crazy idea. “The city center is too crowded and dangerous,” he said. But we were curious.

The course created by a local company was about urban gardening and food culture. Our teacher was creative. On the first day, she described how to design a garden. We learned to grow corn, cucumbers, and more. This daily work built our confidence.

For our project, we chose a deserted corner. We decided to create something cute and useful. The condition was poor. My cousin and I had to deal with hard soil. We learned to depend on and cooperate with each other. I cut the plastic bottles to make pots. We continue to water the plants every day.

We have just completed our garden! Soon, we will cover the fence with green vines. Our dad now loves it and calls it cool. This experience taught me that even in a crowded city, we can create beauty and hope.
