一、but基本用法：并列连词🐻

✅ but作为并列连词，在句子中通常用来连接两个意思相反，相对，转折的句子/短语：译为：但是、可是、然而

1、连接两个完成的句子，前面逗号分隔：

🌹例句：

He is tired,but he still works.他很累，但仍然坚持学习。

It is snowy today, but we still go to work.今天下雪了，但我们还是要去上班。

2、连接两个单词、短语

🌹例句：

This apple is sweet but small.这个苹果很甜但是很小。【单词】

Tom wants to watch TV but has no time.Tom 想看电视但是没有时间。【动词短语】

二、🔥🔥🔥易考易错（逢考必考）

✅but不能与 although /though同时使用；译为虽然......但是......；

🌹例句： 

❌ Although he is thin, but he is strong.

 ❌ I was late, but I got up late.

√：I was late, because I got up late.我迟到了，因为我起床晚了。

✅but连接两个句子时，前后句子的时态需保持一致。

即：前面句子为一般现在时，后面句子也多用一般现在时；前面句子为过去时，后面句子也多用过去时。

🌹例句：

Tom was ill, but he went to school.Tom病了，但他去学校了。
