The transformation commenced in a town hall meeting⁸ in spring 2008, over ten years ago now, when an overwhelming majority of neighbors voted in favour of Motion 836. This legislative proposal essentially set out to⁹ harmonize the aesthetic appearance of all the houses in Berkton. The idea was that if all the properties looked a certain way, with shared design features, then the village as a whole would look more beautiful.
