一、什么是动词?——动词的四大功能
1、核心定义
动词是表示动作、状态、存在或关系的词,是一个句子的核心,决定句子的基本结构和意义。
2、英语中的四大核心功能
Ø表示动作:描述人或物的行为。如:run/write/sing
Ø表示人或物的状态或存在。如:be/seem/appear
Ø表示关系,连接主语与其他部分。如:look/become/feel
Ø助动词,辅助构成时态、语态等。如:do/have/will
动词在句子中的核心地位
一个完整的英语句子必须包含动词(祈使句的动词可省略,但隐含)。

1、按功能分类
1.1 实义动词(Notional Verbs)
定义:有实际意义,能独立作谓语的动词。

1.2连系动词(Linking Verbs)
定义:连接主语和表语,说明主语的身份、特征或状态。
类型 | 常见动词 | 例句 |

感官动词 | look, sound, smell, taste, feel | The food smells delicious. (食物闻起来很香。) |

1.3助动词(Auxiliary Verbs)
定义:帮助实义动词构成时态、语态、否定、疑问等。

1.4 情态动词(Modal Verbs)
定义:表示说话人的语气、态度,有一定词义但不完整。

三、动词的五种基本形式

1、第三人称单数的变化规则
Ø一般情况直接加-s,如:work-works
Ø以s, x, ch, sh, o结尾加-es,如:teach-teaches,pass-passes
Ø辅音+y结尾变y为i加-es,如:study-studies
2、现在分词(-ing)的变化规则
Ø一般情况直接加-ing,如:work-working
Ø以不发音的e结尾去e加-ing,如:take-taking
Ø重读闭音节双写加-ing,如:run-running
Ø以ie结尾变ie为y加-ing,如:die-dying,lie-lying
3、过去式与过去分词的变化规则
