二、讲清本节搭配
🔘 instead of＋名词、代词或 doing：代替……；而不是……。
第1题选择步行，没有坐公交车；第2题选择发语音，没有发文字消息。instead of 后面放的是被替代、没有选择的内容。
We used cloth bags instead of plastic bags. 我们用了布袋，而没有用塑料袋。
She went to the meeting instead of me. 她代替我去参加了会议。
of 是介词，所以后接动词时用 doing；后接人称代词时用宾格，如 me。

🔘 rather than：而不是……，连接两个对比的选择。
它常连接名词、动词等相互对应的成分。先看清两边在比较什么，再安排结构。
We chose the train rather than the plane. 我们选择了火车，而没有选择飞机。
She enjoys drawing rather than taking photos. 她喜欢画画，而不是拍照。
rather than 后面并非一律用 doing。比较动作时，还要看整个句子的结构。

🔘 would rather do A than do B：宁愿做A，也不愿做B。
这是表达偏好的常用句型。would rather 后和 than 后都用动词原形。
I would rather walk than wait for a bus. 我宁愿步行，也不愿等公交车。
这里的 rather 与 than 分开放置，构成完整句型，不能把 than 换成 instead of。

三、换个语境巩固
4）用括号内单词的适当形式填空。
When I made a mistake, I tried again instead of ________ (give) up.
四、答案与解析
1）B：of。
选择步行，替代坐公交车，用 instead of taking a bus。其余介词不能构成这里的固定表达。
2）C：writing。
instead of 中的 of 是介词，后接 doing。write 去掉词尾不发音的 e，再加 -ing，变为 writing。
3）A：copy。
本题是 would rather do A than do B：宁愿请教老师，也不抄别人的答案。than 后用动词原形 copy，不能用 copying、copied 或 to copy。
4）giving。
“再次尝试，而没有放弃”用 instead of giving up。give 去掉词尾不发音的 e，再加 -ing。
