①In the past, workers with average skills, doing an average job, could earn an average lifestyle. ②But, today, average is officially over. ③Being average just won’t earn you what it used to. ④It can’t when so many more employers have so much more access to so much more above average cheap foreign labor, cheap robotics, cheap software, cheap automation and cheap genius. ⑤Therefore, everyone needs to find their extra — their unique value contribution that makes them stand out in whatever is their field of employment.过去，拥有一般（普通）技能、做一般（普通）工作的工人，可以过上一般（普通）的生活。但是，今天，这种普通工作正式结束了。做个普通的工作不会像过去那样带给你普通的生活方式。这一切都不可能了，当越来越多的雇主有更多机会接触到比平均水平高得多的廉价外国劳动力、廉价的机器人、廉价的软件、廉价的自动化设备和廉价的人才时。因此，每个人都需要找到他们额外的——独特的价值贡献，使他们在自己的就业领域脱颖而出。

句子主干：workers could earn an average lifestyle
earn vt. 挣得（就是你挣来的生活，这个说明，你的生活方式和你挣的钱的多少有关）
with部分是介词结构修饰名词workers
doing部分是分词做状语，本质就是一个非限定性定语从句
average adj. 普通的。
lifestyle n. 生活方式。
②But, today, average is officially over.但是，今天，这种普通工作正式结束了。
officially adv.正式地；官方地
③Being average just won’t earn you what it used to.做个普通的工作不会像过去那样带给你普通的生活方式。
这里动名词短语做主语，being average指的是做 “普通的工作”
what部分是宾语从句，这里说不能再挣得，以前那样的普通的生活方式了，就是以前是普通的工作，普通的生活，现在，不行了。
④It can’t when so many more employers have so much more access to so much more above average cheap foreign labor, cheap robotics, cheap software, cheap automation and cheap genius.这一切都不可能了，当越来越多的雇主有更多机会接触到比平均水平高得多的廉价外国劳动力、廉价的机器人、廉价的软件、廉价的自动化设备和廉价的人才时。
句子主干：it can’t，这不可能了。
when部分是时间状语从句，本质上是说不可能的原因：
when so many more employers have so much more access to so much more above average cheap foreign labor, cheap robotics, cheap software, cheap automation and cheap genius.
access n. 机会。（access to sth）
employer n. 雇主
above average：在平均水平以上的
cheap adj. 便宜的；廉价的
⑤Therefore, everyone needs to find their extra — their unique value contributionthat makes them stand outin whatever is their field of employment.因此，每个人都需要找到他们额外的——独特的价值贡献，使他们在自己的就业领域脱颖而出。
这里的破折号是连接两个形容词修饰部分。
extra adj. 额外的
unique adj. 独特的
contribution n.贡献
that部分是定语从句，修饰contribution。
stand out：突出；站出来
in部分是状语
whatever部分是介词宾语从句。
