◦ 定语从句 which/that/who 引导,括号括起来跳过

We knew these numbers didn’t seem right, so what happened? Ultimately, we concluded that laboratory gloves, which the scientific community recommends using as a best practice, can transfer particles to the surface of our samples.

1. which the scientific community recommends using as a best practice →

laboratory gloves can transfer particles to the surface of our samples.

32. What problem with microplastic research is stressed?

A. The severity of plastic pollution.

B. The challenge of recycling microplastics.

C. The difficulty in collecting plastics.

D. The misjudgment in microplastic detection.

Actually, escaping noise pollution isn’t necessarily about finding silence,” says Olivia Lott, a spokeswoman for Earth.fm. “Not all noise is bad for our health. There’s increasing evidence that the sounds of nature, like ocean waves or birdsong, can relax you.”

1. a spokeswoman for Earth.fm

2. like ocean waves or birdsong

Not all noise is bad for our health. … the sounds of nature can relax you.

A. We should view noise objectively.(我们应当客观看待噪音)✅

C. It’s reasonable to seek total silence.(追求完全安静是合理的)❌原文说不一定非要寻找寂静

The girl who is standing beside the window, a student from our class, won the speech competition held last week.

The girl won the speech competition.

缩句法:负责拆句子,看懂长难句内部主干;

逻辑分层:负责拆段落,分清段落论点、论据;

①找逻辑词:but/however/so/therefore/in fact 等,切割层次;

②区分:论点(作者看法)、论据(例子、实验、引用);

①划题干关键词,回文章定位到对应段落;

②用逻辑分层快速找到该段落的核心观点;

③定位句如果是长难句,使用缩句法拆解主干;

Ultimately, we concluded that laboratory gloves, which the scientific community recommends using as a best practice, can transfer particles to the surface of our samples.

题目32:What problem with microplastic research is stressed?

原句:laboratory gloves, 【which the scientific community recommends using as a best practice】, can transfer particles to the surface of our samples.

主干:laboratory gloves can transfer particles to the surface of our samples.

D. The misjudgment in microplastic detection(微塑料检测中的误判)✅

“Not all noise is bad for our health. There’s increasing evidence that the sounds of nature, like ocean waves or birdsong, can relax you.”

29. What do Olivia Lott’s words imply?

原句:There’s increasing evidence that the sounds of nature,【like ocean waves or birdsong】, can relax you.

主干:the sounds of nature can relax you.

Not all noise is bad(不是所有噪音有害)

A. We should view noise objectively(客观看待噪音)✅

题干先定位,段落分层清;

长句缩主干,修饰再回看;

Urban Green Spaces and Mental Well-being

Paragraph 1

In an era of rapid urbanization, the mental well-being of city dwellers has become a growing concern. While concrete jungles offer countless opportunities, they also bring about increased stress and anxiety. However, a growing body of research suggests that urban green spaces, such as parks, community gardens, and even street-side trees, can act as a powerful antidote to the pressures of modern city life. These green oases not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of urban areas but also play a crucial role in promoting psychological health.

Paragraph 2

A recent study conducted by the University of Exeter provides compelling evidence for this claim. The research team, led by Dr. Matthew White, analyzed data from over 20,000 residents across five major European cities. Participants were asked to rate their mental health and report their frequency of visits to green spaces. The study, which controlled for various socio-economic factors, found a significant correlation between regular exposure to nature and lower levels of stress and depression.

Paragraph 3

The findings revealed that individuals who visited green spaces at least three times a week reported 27% lower levels of psychological distress compared to those who had no contact with nature. Moreover, the positive effects were not limited to stress reduction. The study also indicated that people with access to green spaces experienced 30% higher levels of life satisfaction and were more likely to report feeling "connected to nature." Dr. White emphasized that these benefits were consistent across different age groups and socio-economic backgrounds, suggesting that green spaces are a universal resource for mental well-being.

Paragraph 4

This research underscores the importance of integrating green infrastructure into urban planning. As cities continue to expand, policymakers should prioritize the creation and maintenance of parks and green corridors. Dr. White concluded, "Our findings show that nature is not a luxury but a necessity for urban residents. Investing in green spaces is not just an environmental decision; it is a public health imperative that can significantly improve the quality of life for millions of people."
