A Person Who Changes Me a Lot
In the past three years, my English teacher Mrs Xu has played an important role in my life. She changes me a lot.
She is of medium height and kind to us. When I was a seventh-grade student, I was weak in English. Our school held an English speech competition. She encouraged me to take part in it and gave me some advice on how to learn English well. She gave me the strength to overcome the difficulty. With her help, I finished the speech successfully. From then on, I became interested in English and made great progress.
Thanks to her, I realize that I should face difficulties bravely. As long as I work hard, I will succeed.
很多人学外语最常有的挫败感，不是“我不认识这个词”，而是“我认识——但我来不及用”。这句话，说到了无数外语学习者的心坎里。为什么我们总是“反应不过来”？我们通常把这种“反应不过来”归因于天赋、智力，甚至怀疑自己天生缺少某种“语言芯片”。其实不是你不适合学语言，而是语言恰恰是为了“只能当场处理”的大脑而长成今天的样子的。
