revolution n. 革命；变化（这里就是上一段的reshape的意思）
这里的两个gentleman是不一样的，前一个指“间谍”，后面的一个指“普通人（或者说gentleman）”
②That kind of electronic spying has been going on for decades.这种电子间谍活动已经持续了几十年。
that指像偷看别人邮件这样的监视活动（间谍活动）
electronic adj. 电子的。
③In the past three or four years, the World Wide Web has given birth to a whole industryof point-and-click spying.在过去的三、四年里，万维网催生了一个完整的点击式间谍行业。
the World Wide Web：万维网。
互联网包含因特网，因特网包含万维网，凡是能彼此通信的设备组成的网络就叫互联网。所以，即使仅有两台机器，不论用何种技术使其彼此通信，也叫互联网。（相信你也看不懂，反正是网络就行了）
give birth to：产生；造成。
industry n. 行业。
point-and-click：点击式的。
④The spooks call it “open-source intelligence,” and as the Net grows, it is becoming increasingly influential.间谍们称之为“开源情报”，随着网络的发展，它的影响力也越来越大。

who部分是宾语从句
compile vt. 汇编；汇集（这里就是指收集情报的意思）。
data n. 数据（也是考了无数次的词汇）
Burundi n. 布隆迪，布隆迪共和国（The Republic of Burundi），简称布隆迪，位于非洲中东部赤道南侧。北与卢旺达接壤，东、南与坦桑尼亚交界，西与刚果（金）为邻，西南濒坦噶尼喀湖。境内多高原和山地，大部由东非大裂谷东侧高原构成，全国平均海拔1600米，有 “山国” 之称。

总结：第二段是说，利用网络来进行间谍活动这件事情已经持续几十年了，而且催生了一整个间谍行业，影响力越来越多，甚至都到了举办比赛的程度了。
