Memory in Sound
Grandfather's memory began fading last year, but his hands remembered.
祖父的记忆从去年开始衰退,但他的双手还记得。
Every Sunday, I'd find him tuning his erhu, an ancient Chinese instrument.

He'd forgotten my name, but his fingers knew every note.

One afternoon, I showed him a video of his performance from years ago.

He watched blankly, then picked up his erhu.

His bow touched the strings, and the room filled with the same melody.
