新托福口语3.8面试题真题解析
1. Have you ever set personal goals for yourself?I have been trying to lose some weight since overweight is a potential threat to my physical health. To make this happen, two things are pretty important. First, a healthy diet matters. If I want to see great results rapidly, I should control the calorie intake. That means, I need to replace the junk food with the low-calorie food. Then, the total intake of calories per day is under control. Second, regular exercise contributes to the success. This is because cardio training is extremely essential for losing weight. Even though the intake is strictly controlled, we can't anticipate the decrease of body weight unless we make sure the calories is consumed in time. 2. What difficulties do you usually encounter when pursuing these goals. The pursuit of goals is predestined to be hard. First, failures stand in the way. During the process, I see many failures. They are consistently telling me that these goals are too difficult to be achieved. And I might doubt myself. For example, it is especially ture when it comes to losing weight. I witness the up and down of the number on the scale, which makes me feel frustrated. Second, temptations distract me. Sometimes it feels easy to quit. Sometimes people around you suggest that there might be another way. All these voices tear you down if you are not determined. 3. Do you think setting goals for yourself is important? Why?First off, I learn to be more patient. This is because we usually get our needs satisfied immediately in our daily life. Say, I want to grab some coke after running for thirty minutes. Then, I have it. It makes me feel good. However, it always takes a long time to reach our goals, which means we need to wait. Plus, it builds confidence. This is because whatever my goal is, I would consider the success as a recognition for myself as long as I finish it on my own. Then, I would be more likely to set another goal. It is a virtuous cycle. 4. Do you think it's important for children to set goals? Why?I don't think it is necessary. To begin with, setting goals is stressful for children. This is because children are underdeveloped both physically and mentally. Once they encounter difficulties, it is easy for them to be defeated since they are not resilient enough. More importantly, they may be afraid of facing up to future barriers because of the failure. Moreover, they are in a state of exploring the world. They are curious about everything. Setting goals would push them to find a direction which might not be a suitable one because it is too early to say they should go in this way or another. Often, the door will open for them after some time.
