China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism unveiled the Auspicious Horse mascot of the 2026 Spring Festival, which signaled the beginning of the Year of the Horse. The designers of the Auspicious Horse also drew from aesthetic elements of equine imagery during the Tang Dynasty (618–907). Red was chosen as the base color, and traditional patterns were included to highlight the warmth and joy typical of the festival. According to the ministry, a mascot merchandise line was launched, including plush toys, blind boxes and fridge magnets, as well as festival supplies like Spring Festival hanging couplets, red envelopes and lanterns. The image of the Auspicious Horse and related merchandise was used by Spring Festival events across the globe. “吉祥马” 的设计者还从唐代（公元 618–907 年）的马形象中汲取了美学元素。红色被选为底色，并融入传统纹样，以凸显春节特有的温暖与喜庆氛围。据文旅部介绍，已推出一系列吉祥物周边产品，包括毛绒玩具、盲盒、冰箱贴，以及春联、红包、灯笼等春节用品。“吉祥马” 的形象及相关周边产品已在全球各地的春节活动中使用。
