一、基本原则
1. 单数主语 + 单数谓语
He likes English.他喜欢英语。
2. 复数主语 + 复数谓语
They like English.他们喜欢英语。
二、必考高频考点
1. and 连接
①两个人/物：谓语动词用复数
Tom and Jim are good friends.汤姆和吉姆是好朋友。
②同一人/同一物：谓语动词用单数
The writer and teacher is coming.（同一个人）这位作家又是老师要来了。
2. each / every / no 开头
each, every, no 修饰名词，谓语动词一律单数
Each student has a book.每个学生都有一本书。
3. 不定代词作主语
something, anything, everything, nothing, someone, anyone, everyone
谓语动词一律用单数
Everything is ready.一切都准备好了。
4. 集体名词
family家庭，家人 class班级，学生 team队，队员 group 组，组员
①看作整体：谓语动词用单数
The class is big.这个班很大。
②看作成员：谓语动词用复数
The class are Reading.同学们正在读书。
5. 表时间、金钱、距离、重量
看作整体，谓语动词用单数
Three years is a long time.三年是一个很长的时间。
6. 动名词/不定式作主语，谓语动词用单数
Reading books is useful.读书很有用。
7. 就近原则（必考！）
谓语跟最近的主语一致
①there be 句型
There is a pen and two books.有一支钢笔和两本书。（与pen的数一致）
②not only...but also... 不仅……而且……
either...or...要么……要么……
neither...nor...既不……又不……
8. 就远原则
谓语跟修饰语前面名词或代词的数一致
①with / together with / along with
②as well as / except / but / besides
Tom, with his parents, likes music.和他父母在一起的汤姆喜欢音乐。
9. 单复数同形
people, police, cattle 谓语动词只用复数
The police are here.警察在这里呢。
三、中考必背口诀
1. 单数用is/does，复数用are/do
2. 就近：there be, or, nor, not only...but also
3. 就远：with, as well as, except
4. 不定代词、动名词、时间金钱，全按单数走
