Now many kinds of animals have disappeared from Earth. It's really a big problem. （1）Why should people care about that? Because we need animals. They are more than just a source of food. Every animal has its place in the balance of nature. Destroying one kind can cause many problems. For example, when farmers killed large numbers of （大量的）hawks, their crops were destroyed by mice. Why? Because hawks eat mice. With no hawks to keep down（控制）their numbers, the mice multiplied quickly. Luckily, some people are working to help save animals.（举例）
Everyone should play an active role in protecting animals. Let's make our Earth a home for all living things.（倡议）
