Liu Mingzhu didn't expect his gourd(葫芦) lamps would be popular with people,but it seems they are.
Growing up in the Lianchi District of Baoding, Hebei Province, the 59-year-old 1 at a local factory. Making lamps with gourds has been his hobby since 2020.
“I 2 a gourd lamp online by chance and was attracted(吸引) by its beauty,” Liu said, adding that he believed he could also make them 3 he had been drawing gourds since the 1990s.Exactly,Liu had been 4 in pyrography(烙画) since 1998. In that year, he made his first piece—a pen holder made of a gourd. Since then,he has built a 5 relationship with gourds. In his spare time, Liu spends his time 6 artworks from gourds.
“When I touch a gourd, I know whether its skin(壳) is thin or thick,”he said. "Making gourd lamps requires using gourds 7 hard, thin skins.”He has made more than 2,000 pyrography works and over 400 gourd lamps. At Liu's home, 8 living room is filled with gourds and gourd lamp works.His pen holder on the work table is filled with pencils and 9 of different types.
“To achieve perfection,I need to sit at my workbench(工作台)for a very long time.It requires a lot of 10 and perseverance(毅力),”he said. "When I see my works are liked by others,I feel satisfied.”
刘明珠没有想到他的葫芦灯会受到人们的欢迎,但它似乎很受大家欢迎。在河北省保定市莲池区长大的这位59岁的老人在当地一家工厂工作。自2020年开始,制作葫芦灯成了他的爱好。
刘明珠说:“我偶然在网上看到一盏葫芦灯,便被它的美丽所吸引。”他相信自己也可以制作它们,因为他从20世纪90年代就开始画葫芦了。确切地说,自1998年以来,他一直对烙画感兴趣。在那一年,他制作了他第一件葫芦做的笔筒。从那时起,他已经和葫芦建立了牢固的关系。在他的闲暇时间,他会花时间用葫芦制作艺术品。
他说:“当我摸到一个葫芦时,我就知道它的皮是薄还是厚。制作葫芦灯需要使用壳硬而薄的葫芦。”他已经制作了2000多件烙画作品和400多盏葫芦灯。在刘明珠的家里,他的客厅摆满了葫芦和葫芦灯作品。他的工作台上的笔筒里摆满了不同类型的铅笔和小刀。
刘明珠说:“为了达到完美,我需要在工作台前坐很长时间。这需要很大的耐心和毅力。当我看到自己的作品被别人喜欢时,我感到很满足。”
从2020年开始,制作葫芦灯成了刘明珠的爱好。他的耐心和毅力造就了他精湛的技艺,因此他的葫芦灯很受欢迎。
