1. another：另一个；再一个
another 通常用于三个或更多事物中，表示“另外一个”或“再一个”，后面可以接单数可数名词。
如：This book is interesting. Can you recommend another book? 这本书很有趣。你能再推荐一本吗？
another 也可以单独使用，代替前面提到的名词。
如：This apple is too small. I’ll have another. 这个苹果太小了，我再拿一个。
2. other：其他的
other 作形容词时，可以修饰复数可数名词或不可数名词。
• other students：其他学生 • other information：其他信息
如：Do you have any other questions? 你还有其他问题吗？
如果要表达“其他一些人或事物”，还可以使用代词 others，相当于 other + 复数名词。
如：Some students like reading, while others enjoy sports. 一些学生喜欢阅读，而另一些学生喜欢运动。
3. the other：两者中的另一个
当我们谈论两个事物时，常用 one … the other …表示“一个……另一个……”。
如：I have two bags. One is black, and the other is white. 我有两个包，一个是黑色的，另一个是白色的。
如果谈论的是某个确定范围内剩下的所有人或事物，则可以使用 the others。
如：Five students are here. The others are in the classroom. 五名学生在这里，其余学生都在教室里。
