An Exciting Match

词数 204建议用时 6 分钟难度 ★★★☆☆

— — — — — —

Yesterday our school had a basketball match on the playground. It was an exciting game between Class Three and Class Five. The players ran fast and the score kept changing all the time. Many students stood by the court and cheered loudly for their teams. Everyone felt the happy and noisy air of the big match.

Class 3 played very well in the first half. Their passing was quick and the moves were surprising. The match became more and more interesting as time went by. Even the teachers shouted and jumped with joy. It was a wonderful afternoon for all of us.

In the last minute, Tom from Class 5 got the ball. He made an amazing shot and the crowd went crazy. The final whistle blew and Class 5 won by two points. What an exciting ending to a close game! Both teams left the court with big smiles.

After the match, we learned an important rule about English words. Words like exciting and interesting end in -ing and describe things that make us feel something strong. They are clearly different from -ed words such as excited, which describe how people feel. A match can be exciting, but we are excited about it.

▍ 看 -ing 含义。第四段 Words like exciting and interesting end in -ing and describe things that make us feel something——-ing 形容词修饰“事物”,表示“令人…的”,A 的“令人激动的事物”正确;B 感到激动的人要用 -ed(excited)。

Q4 · C(推断题)

出处:第四段 “excited, which describe how people feel”

▍ 抓语法对比。末段说 -ing 词描述事物,而 excited 这类 -ed 词 describe how people feel——exciting 修饰物、excited 修饰人,C 最准;A 意思相同、B 只有人能 exciting、D -ed 永远错都错。

Q5 · C(主旨题)
