1.A new species of dinosaurhas been identified in Thailand thanks to the unearthing of one of the best-preserved fossils ever found in South-East Asia. Called Minimocursor phunoiensis, these dinosaurs lived during the late Jurassic age, which was about 150 million years ago.
Sita Manitkoon, from the Palaeontological Research and Education Centre at Thailand's Mahasarakham University, led the study. He says it is a "very special" find. The bones give experts a pretty good idea of the dinosaurs' shapes, but they're left to fill the gaps when it comes to things like their colours. So while researchers' illustrations may look realistic, the dinosaurs might have looked different in real life.
In a study published earlier this month, researchers said the fossil was an "exceptionally articulated skeleton" and was "one of the best-preserved dinosaurs ever found in Southeast Asia". "It's one of the most complete skeletons," Dr Manitkoon says. "Previously, Thai dinosaurs, they usually find isolated bones, just some leg bones, some vertebrae, something like that." But in this case, we found a whole articulated skeleton, so it's very special."
Based on the size of other bones found nearby, researchers think this was a youngdinosaur. They estimate it was only about 60 centimetres long — about the size of a medium dog. Butthe adult versions would have been a bit bigger. "We assume that at an adult stage, it may have been up to 2 metres long," researchers write. Researchers reflected on how small it was when choosing its name. They combined the Latin word "minimus" for "smallest" with "cursor" for "runner" to create the first part of its scientific name.
Researchers found it at Phu Noi in the north-eastern Thai province of Kalasin. In the study, researchers describe the location as a "small hill", but it's a rich deposit of bones. "The Phu Noi locality contains a wealth of specimens. And there could still be morediscoveries to come out of the area." Many of the remaining bones are still under preparation, including another skull," researchers say.

3. On March 24, 2026, the sudden passing of famous educator Zhang Xuefeng shocked millions of students and teachers. The official announcement said he died of Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD). This little-known but extremely dangerous condition has drawn wide public concern.
SCD, short for Sudden Cardiac Death, refers to an unexpected natural death caused by heart problems, usually within 1 hour after the start of serious symptoms. It is often called an “electrical accident of the heart”. The heart suddenly stops beating normally and cannot pump blood, leading to organ failure and death in a very short time.
Many people mix SCD with heart attack, but they are different. A heart attack is usually caused by blocked blood vessels; SCD is mainly caused by dangerous arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) that makes the heart stop working at once.
SCD can happen to anyone, but some groups are at higher risk: people with long-term overload, high stress, irregular rest, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, or a family history of heart problems. Middle-aged people with heavy work pressure are especially easy to be targeted.
The early signs of SCD are easy to ignore. They include sudden chest pain, tightness, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, extreme tiredness, fainting, cold sweat or fast/irregular heartbeat. Many people think it is just tiredness, so they miss the best time for help.
SCD is life-threatening, but timely first aid and treatment can save lives. The key is to act fast: call for help at once, start CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and use an AED if possible. Studies show that the survival rate is much higher if treated within the first 4–6 minutes.
Prevention is the best protection. We should keep regular work and rest, avoid staying up late, control pressure, exercise properly, have health checks on time, and learn basic first aid. If we feel serious discomfort in the chest or heart, we must see a doctor immediately.
1. What is the purpose of the first paragraph about Zhang Xuefeng’s death?
A. To introduce the topic of SCD.
B. To arouse readers' pity for Zhang Xuefeng..
C. To describe his teaching influence.
D. To describe the seriousness of SCD.
2.What is the main cause of SCD?A. Blocked blood vessels in the heart.B.Life-threatening irregular heartbeat.C. Lack of regular exercise.D. Severe mental stress.
3.What is the key to dealing with SCD?
A. Taking medicine quickly.
B. Asking for help and first aid immediately.
C. Having a good rest at home.
D. Drinking enough water.
4.Which is helpful to prevent SCD according to the text?
A. Learning first aid in special hospitals
B. Asking for doctors' help when feeling tired.
C. Keeping regular rest and reducing pressure.
D. Doing very intense exercise every day.

3.B:第五段强调“The key is to act fast: call emergency services immediately, start CPR... and use an AED if available”,说明及时急救与医疗干预是提升生存率的关键;A、C、D均非科学有效的急救措施。

1. 答案:B
解析:根据文章首句“An ancient technique for building wooden arch (拱形结构) bridges - without using a single nail (钉子)- has been added to UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List.”
2. 答案:C
解析:从文中“I've enjoyed making 'wooden arch bridges' with chopsticks since childhood. Amazingly, with only 15 chopsticks, I could build a 'bridge' capable of supporting more than 1 kg,”可知,胡俊峰童年用筷子搭建“木拱桥”的经历展示了这种桥梁结构的潜力,C选项正确。
3. 答案:D
解析:由“First added to UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2009, the wooden bridge industry has declined in recent years due to rapid urbanization (城市化) and the scarcity (不足) of wood and building space.”
4. 答案:D
解析:根据“This disaster reminded the public of the importance of protecting and restoring these treasures and the need to pass down the technique of bridge building. Later, Zhejiang established a themed museum, included information on the bridges in primary school curricula and produced TV documentaries...”
