第3周 · 第2刊（复习巩固）
同学们，第1刊学完了吧？这刊还是老规矩，不加新词，把第1刊那60个词过一遍。花十来分钟，咱们把上周的东西捡起来。
一、先来快速回滚
看下面这20个英文词，嘴里说出中文大意就行，不用写。每个词给自己最多2秒，想不起来就画个圈，别纠结。

如果你画圈超过5个，翻回去，把画圈的词所在的那一整组再快速看一遍。别嫌麻烦，这一步偷懒，后面阅读里遇到它们你还是认不出来。
二、做个小测，看看你在句子里认不认得
下面这段短文，讲的是一个学生参加环保活动的经历。括号里给了三个词，你选一个最合适的填进去。每个词只能用一次。
Last month, our class started a project to (1) ______ (cope / cover / convey) the problem of food waste. We wanted to (2) ______ (convey / consume / count) the message that wasting food is wrong. At first, some students didn‘t think it (3) ______ (counted / covered / cured). But our teacher showed us some (4) ______ (dramatic / distant / dynamic) numbers: one third of the world’s food is wasted every year. That really (5) ______ (convinced / criticized / delayed) us to take action. We (6) ______ (cooperated / compared / competed) with a local food bank and collected unused food from the school dining hall. 都选对了吗？如果第1题和第8题你犹豫了，记住：cover在这里是“涵盖、涉及”，convey是“传达、传递（信息、想法）”。这两个词在阅读里都很常见，cover偏“包括”，convey偏“传递”。
三、今天继续攒熟词生义卡
这周再攒5张。还是老规矩，抄在专用本上，正面写单词和常见义，背面写生义和例句。每天课前翻两分钟。
第11张：cover
你认识的：覆盖、遮盖
考场上考你的：涵盖、包括；报道；够付
记住这三句话：The report covers many topics.（这份报告涵盖很多话题。）She covered the accident for the local newspaper.（她为当地报纸报道了这起事故。）This money can cover the cost.（这笔钱够付费用。）
一句话提醒：cover的核心是“盖住”。盖住话题就是“涵盖”，盖住事件就是“报道”，盖住费用就是“够付”。
第12张：count
你认识的：数数、计算
考场上考你的：算数、重要；依靠、指望
记住这两句话：Every effort counts.（每一份努力都算数。）You can count on me.（你可以指望我。）
一句话提醒：count做“重要”讲的时候，经常出现在议论文结尾。count on 就是“依靠”。
第13张：practice
你认识的：练习
考场上考你的：惯例、做法
记住这句话：It is common practice to shake hands when you meet someone.（见面握手是常见的做法。）
一句话提醒：practice做“惯例”讲的时候，前面经常有common、usual、standard这些词。
第14张：present
你认识的：礼物；现在
考场上考你的：呈现、展示；出席的
记住这两句话：She presented her ideas clearly.（她清晰地展示了自己的想法。）All the students were present at the meeting.（所有学生都出席了会议。）
一句话提醒：present做动词是“呈现”，做形容词是“出席的”。看到be present at，就是“出席”。
第15张：process
你认识的：过程
考场上考你的：加工、处理
记住这句话：The factory processes raw materials into finished products.（工厂把原材料加工成成品。）
一句话提醒：process做动词是“加工、处理”，跟deal with差不多。
四、这刊的课后任务
任务一（必做）
把上面5张熟词生义卡完整抄一遍。正面单词和常见义，背面生义和例句。抄完合上本子，自己考自己：cover的生义是什么？count呢？practice呢？present呢？process呢？想不起来就翻回去看，看完了再合上，再想。重复两三次，基本就记住了。
任务二（必做）
用cover和count各写一个句子，必须用它们的生义。比如cover你就写“这份报告涵盖了很多话题”，count你就写“每一份努力都算数”。写完了读一遍，看看顺不顺。
任务三（A层同学选做）
从第1刊的60个词里挑10个，每个词写一个短语搭配就行，不用造句。比如consume energy、cope with pressure、count on、cover the cost、contribute to。写短语比写句子省时间，但一样能帮你把词的用法记牢。
