中考高频易错点:5个other,90%学生都分不清

昨天改作业，看到这样一道题：

I have two sisters. One is a teacher, ___ is a doctor.

班里38个人，22个选了 another。

正确答案应该是 the other。

这22个同学不是不会英语，而是——这几个词实在太像了。

今天就帮大家彻底理清楚：other / another / the other / others / the others。

其实这五个词的核心区别就一句话：

两个以内的，说清楚是哪个；三个以上的，只说"其他的"。

听起来抽象？我们直接看题。

① another → "另一个"（三个以上）

another 的意思是 "另一个"，但前提是总数至少三个。

我不在乎这个，给我另一个。

比如你买奶茶：

This cup is too sweet. Can I have another one?

这时候你面前至少还有第三杯、第四杯。你不在乎是哪一杯，只要是"另外一杯"就行。

考试重点： another 前面不能加the，后面可以跟单数名词。

I don't like this book. Please show me another one. ✓

I don't like this book. Please show me another books. ✗

② the other → "剩下的那个"（只有两个）

回到开头的题目：

I have two sisters. One is a teacher, the other is a doctor.

为什么选 the other？

因为一共就两个姐姐。一个已经说了，那剩下的那个就是确定的。一旦确定，就要加 the。

再比如：

He has two pens. One is blue, the other is red.

两个里面，"一个……另一个……" = one ... the other ...

考试最喜欢考这个搭配。

③ the other + 复数名词 → "剩下的那些"

如果 the other 后面跟复数名词，表示"另外那些"。

I will take this book. You can take the other books.

意思是：这一堆书里面，我自己拿这本，剩下的你都拿走。

注意：这里的"剩下的"是确定的、你知道是哪一些的，所以加 the。

④ others → "其他人/物"（泛指，三个以上）

others = other + 复数名词，意思是"其他的人或物"。

注意区别：
others 是泛指，不确定具体是哪些。

Some students like English. Others like math.

这里"其他同学"是泛指，不知道具体是谁。

考试陷阱： others 前面不加the，后面不跟名词（本身就是名词）。

Some like reading, others like playing. ✓

Some like reading, the others like playing. ✗（除非是五）

Some like reading, others books. ✗

⑤ the others → "剩下的人/物"（全部）

the others = the other + 复数名词

意思是"剩下所有的人或物"——是全部剩下的。

There are 40 students in our class. 20 are girls. The others are boys.

这里"剩下的20个"是确定的、全部的，所以加 the。

第一题：

Some students are playing basketball, while ___ are playing football.

先想：一共多少人在选？"一些打篮球，另一些踢足球"——没有说全部，是泛指。所以选 B. others。

第二题：

I have two apples. One is red, ___ is green.

A. other
B. others
C. the other
D. another

"两个苹果，一个红，一个绿"——两个里面剩下的那个是确定的。选 C. the other。

总结一下

其实这五个词一点也不难，关键是：

1. 1. 先判断总数——两个还是三个以上
2. 2. 再判断确不确定——知不知道具体是哪些

掌握了这个逻辑，考试遇到这五个词再也不会错。
