Jennifer Smith has trouble in reading.She found this problem at the age of nine.For her, reading and spelling were much harder than for others, and she often felt sad because of it.
Soon, she started going to the reading club once a week.Her teacher in the club used many ways to help her, like showing pictures, listening to sounds and doing activities.After three weeks, she could read whole sentences by herself.That made her feel very pleased.
Three years later, Jennifer wanted to help other kids like her with the same problem.She decided to write a book about her experience.Writing the book was not easy, but she managed to finish it.At last, her book *Dyslexia Wonders* came out.In the book, she shared her story and gave advice to kids to deal with the problem.

Pencils are common tools for writing and drawing.They look simple, but they have a fascinating history.
It all started in the 1500s, when people in England discovered graphite, a special dark thing.At first, they tied it with thin rope or put it into small wooden sticks to use it better.
Then, in the 17th century, the modern pencil began to be made.Skilled workers shaped graphite and placed it into wood.
A big change happened in 1795.Conte, an engineer, tried many ways to make better pencils.He mixed graphite with soft earth and fired it.The new mixture was great—changing the amount of earth made softer or harder pencils.Conte put it into wood for easier use.This method is still widely used for most wooden pencils today.
Now China makes a large number of pencils, and people all over the world use them.China is a big help in making pencils available for everyone.
