My Plan as a Volunteer

Our After-school Services

We are glad that our school will have more extended courses which can be helpful to arouse our interest in study and make our school life colorful.

First of all, we have the right to decide whether or not to take part in the services. Next, the school sets up many clubs for us, such as the basketball club, the music club and so on. After school every day, we can choose our favorite clubs to join. I also join the music club.

In my opinion, after-school services are very good for us. They not only make our school life colorful but also help raise our interest in different fields.

An Experience of Overcoming Difficulties

Everyone has encountered many difficulties in their life. So have I. I remembered that was a geography exam. Before the exam, I really prepared for it carefully. I went over the book every day. But when I got the mark, I nearly cried. It was only 20, and the full score was 100. I felt so sad and even wanted to give up my study.

My friend saw this and helped me a lot. He told me the right way to learn geography. With his help and encouragement, I cheered myself up. 

It’s a fact that everyone can meet difficulties in his or her life. The most important thing is to find a right way and never give up.

Save Food

Food is important to us. It’s our duty to save food. Today food waste is a big problem. 

Once, while I was eating lunch at the school dining hall, I suddenly found that the student beside me threw his food away without saying a word. He didn’t even finish half of it. In my opinion, it is so bad to do that, because it is not easy for farmers to grow food nowadays. Besides many people in the world die of hunger every day, and they don’t have enough food to eat. 

In order to stop food waste, first, do not order the food more than you can eat while eating outside. Second, try your best to save food at home as much as possible so that many people in the world can be helped. What’s more, if you can’t finish eating what you order in the restaurant, you can take it away instead of wasting it.

My Happiness

Everyone has his or her own happy thing. So do I.

It was a sunny and hot day. After having four classes, I felt very hungry. So I decided to buy something to eat in the market. When I waited in line, I suddenly found that I forgot to take any money with me. Then I had to go back to my classroom with hunger. After a while, I saw a man coming into my classroom. That was my father who carried a box in his left hand. He came to me and said, “You must be hungry, dear. I forgot to give you money this morning. Eat now.” I felt so warm at that moment. Many people think that it’s not necessary to learn English because the English mark was reduced from 140 to 120.

I disagree with this point of view. I think English is always important. First of all, English, as an international language and tool, is widely used in many countries and areas. China is developing so fast that we have more chances to communicate with the rest of the world in English. What’s more, it also helps us learn advanced technology abroad. After all, many useful books are written in English. Most importantly, by knowing more about the world, we can expand our horizons.

All in all, whether the English mark is reduced or not, I hold the opinion that we should learn English. I hope that all students can use English freely.

The One Beside Me

The person who has influenced me most is my uncle. My uncle is in his forties. He works in a factory. He is not only kind to everyone but also patient with people around him. As far as I know, he has never made any mistakes. He is also a brave and kind-hearted man. When he faces difficulty in his daily life, he never gives up what he decided to do. He is always able to take every chance to succeed. He teaches me how to be a good person and gives me the courage to face any difficulty. He always helps me with my English.

The Double Reduction Policy has carried out for several months. Thanks to it, we students have had more chances to take part in After-class Service Activities that are held by the school. Among those activities, what I like best is different kinds of clubs which can help develop my interest.

I’m interested in playing the instruments. Last week I joined the music club where I could play many different kinds of musical instruments. Gradually, I took an interest in playing the piano. Each time I touched it, I couldn’t help losing myself in it and got really relaxed when hearing the beautiful sound that the piano produced. The teacher was patient to teach me all her skills and told me some stories about musicians. Encouraged by those successful musicians, I practiced the piano much harder and even wished to be a famous pianist in the future.

Impressed by the experience I have had, I think holding such After-class Service Activities is really meaningful. They can not only make my mind and body rest, but also make me more talented. Besides, I hope our school can come up with some good ways to improve them, such as making club rules and adding marks for the students. Only in this way, can more students join the clubs more actively.
