昨天我们学了定语从句——用来修饰名词，让句子变高级。
今天学状语从句——用来修饰动词、形容词或整个句子，让句子的逻辑关系更清晰。
如果说定语从句是“化妆”，那状语从句就是“骨架”——它能告诉读者：什么时候发生的？什么条件下会发生？为什么发生？
先看两个句子，你感受一下区别：
低级：I was late. The teacher was angry.
高级：When I was late, the teacher was angry.
低级：You work hard. You will succeed.
高级：If you work hard, you will succeed.
低级：He was tired. He went to bed early.
高级：Because he was tired, he went to bed early.
看出来了吗？加上一个连词，两个句子就有了逻辑关系，读起来更顺畅。

二、什么是状语从句？一张表搞懂
概念：状语从句就是用一个句子来作状语，说明主句动作的时间、条件、原因等。
【公式】
主句 + 连词 + 从句
或：连词 + 从句, 主句
【例子】
I will call you when I get home. （时间状语从句）
If it rains, we will stay at home. （条件状语从句）
He was late because he got up late. （原因状语从句）
三大状语从句速查表（今天先学这三个）
类型 连词 用法 例句
时间状语从句 when, while, as, before, after, until, as soon as 说明主句动作发生的时间 When I arrived, they were waiting.
条件状语从句 if, unless (= if not) 说明主句动作发生的条件 If it rains, we'll stay home.
原因状语从句 because, since, as 说明主句动作发生的原因 He passed because he worked hard.
核心口诀：
时间when/while，条件if/unless，
原因because最常用，since/as也表因。
三、逐个拆解（附中考真题）
1. 时间状语从句（when/while/as soon as/until等）
（1）when（当...时）
最常用，表示主句动作和从句动作同时发生，或一先一后。
When I got home, my mother was cooking.
（我到家时，妈妈正在做饭——同时）
When he finished homework, he watched TV.
（他写完作业后看电视——先后）
中考真题（2023河北）：
I was doing my homework ______ my mother came back.
A. when B. if C. because D. so
解析：句意是“我正在做作业，这时妈妈回来了”。表示一个动作发生时另一个动作正在进行，用when。正确答案是A。

（2）while（当...时；而）
强调两个动作同时进行，且常接进行时；也可表示对比“而”。
While I was sleeping, someone called.
（我正在睡觉时，有人打电话）
I like English while my brother likes math.
（我喜欢英语而我弟弟喜欢数学——对比）

（3）as soon as（一...就...）
强调两个动作紧接着发生。
As soon as I get there, I'll call you.
（我一到那儿就给你打电话）

（4）until/till（直到...）
· 主句是延续性动词（肯定句）：动作一直持续到某个时间
I waited until he came back. （我一直等到他回来）
· 主句是瞬间动词（否定句）：直到...才...
I didn't leave until he came back. （直到他回来我才离开）
注意：not...until是中考高频考点，意思是“直到...才”。

2. 条件状语从句（if/unless）
（1）if（如果）
表示如果某种条件成立，主句就会发生。
If it is sunny tomorrow, we will go hiking.
（如果明天晴天，我们就去远足）
中考真题（2024河北）：

解析：句意是“如果明天下雨，我们就待在家”。表示条件，用If。正确答案是A。

（2）unless（除非 = if...not）
You will fail unless you work hard. = You will fail if you don't work hard.

【中考必考点】主将从现
在时间状语从句和条件状语从句中，如果主句是一般将来时，从句要用一般现在时（不能用将来时）。
❌ If it will rain tomorrow, we will stay at home.
✅ If it rains tomorrow, we will stay at home.
❌ When he will come, I'll tell you.
✅ When he comes, I'll tell you.
口诀：主将从现，主情从现，主祈从现。

3. 原因状语从句（because/since/as）
（1）because（因为）
语气最强，用来回答why，表示直接原因。
He was late because he missed the bus.
（他迟到是因为错过了公交车）
注意：because和so不能连用。
❌ Because he was tired, so he went to bed.
✅ Because he was tired, he went to bed.
✅ He was tired, so he went to bed.

（2）since（既然）
语气较弱，表示已知的、明显的原因，常译作“既然”。
Since everyone is here, let's start.
（既然大家都到了，我们开始吧）

（3）as（由于）
语气最弱，表示显而易见的原因。
As it was late, we went home.
（由于天晚了，我们回家了）
四、3秒判断法（再也不纠结）
拿到一道状语从句题，按这个顺序判断：
第一步：看逻辑关系
· 时间关系 → when/while/as soon as/until
· 条件关系 → if/unless
· 因果关系 → because/since/as
第二步：看时态
· 主句将来时 → 从句用一般现在时（主将从现）
第三步：看特殊用法
· “直到...才” → not...until
· 两个动作同时进行 → while + 进行时
· because和so不能同时用
